Informing about rights by handing out information leaflets
The practice of correctly informing about rights should be included in the existing algorithms of police communication with people and ensured by all regulatory acts.
The purpose of creating and distributing leaflets for detainees, victims and witnesses is to offer the police a convenient tool that will be understandable to the person with whom they are in contact. Ensuring by police officers the right to information, in particular, to knowledge of rights, changes the practice of law enforcement and increases people’s trust in the law enforcement system.
